The Danny Kyle Open Stage – It’s Showcase Time
Written by celtic music radio on January 18, 2025
The Danny Kyle Open Stage (DKOS) gets under way this evening with a sparkling showcase event.
At its usual ‘home’ in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall’s Exhibition Hall, this two-hour, free musical extravaganza welcomes back four acts from last year’s DKOS sessions plus a special guest.
Producer and presenter, Liz Clark, is looking forward to this year’s shows, which run from today all the way to the final one in two weeks’ time.
Today’s and every evening’s DKOS starts at 5 pm and each show will be broadcast live on Celtic Music Radio with a listen again service available via the dkos.co.uk website https://dkos.co.uk/dkos-showcase-2025/
The opening show features:
BEATHA
ELEANOR DUNSDON & GREGOR BLACK
EVE DAVIDSON
CAN DUBH
Special guest JOHN RUSH
Liz said: “It’s great to welcome back four DKOS acts from last year.
“Another, Monique Clare, is at a folk festival in Tasmania, so it was a long way to come for a 20-minute slot.
“But I’m pleased that John Rush can appear as he was awarded a Danny back in 2021 and, due to the pandemic, never got a showcase.
“All in all, it’s a great way to get the DKOS shows for 2025 under way.”
