Album of the Week – Chloe Matharu ‘Sailors And Rolling Stones’

Written by on August 31, 2024

Multi-award winner CHLOE MATHARU continues to impress on her second album, Sailors And Rolling Stones that is released in October.

The West of Scotland-based singer-songwriter and harpist composes songs inspired by her time at sea as a Navigational Officer in the Merchant Navy and the natural world, as experienced from the sea.

Through her music she hauntingly lends a voice to the modern-day seafarer.

This new album is a selection of electronic soundscapes featuring her original songs plus arrangements of traditional Scots songs, Celtic harp and soundscaping by Glasgow-based Tomekeeper Productions.

She will be playing the new songs live on a 12-date UK tour in October.

Chloe, whose 2022 Small Voyages debut album won the Celtic Music Radio Album of the Year Award, is going to be talking about her latest with Auntie Liz Clark on our Album of the Week Show today at midday.

• ALBUM OF THE WEEK SHOW – Saturday, August 31, 2024 – Liz Clark in conversation with Chloe Matharu at 12 noon.

For her single Into The Earth  the accompanying music video she features her pet pygmy goats Luss, Cairn, Lochy, Cobbler and Rusky.
