Sounds Celtic with Moira Kerr

Since 2015 David has presented ‘Sounds Irish’ which is produced by his wife Anne Marie. The show has featured music, news, interviews and recorded concerts featuring many of the major stars of Irish Country and new emerging artists.

Lorna is a lifelong lover of the arts and a freelance writer, whose work has been featured in the journal “Clover & Bee”, and her work has been part of an exhibition at the Art Up Front Street Gallery in Exeter NH. Lorna has been presenting her popular world music show, Global Heartbeat, in the US since 2015, but as a native of Paisley, she’s delighted to be bringing it home! Showcasing the best in folk, roots, and fusion music from all across the earth, on Global Heartbeat you can expect to hear anything from the desert blues of the Saharah to the traditional music of the Quebecois, and most points in between. You might not hear your old favorite on Global Heartbeat, but you might just hear your new one… Find out on Saturday nights from 10pm.

Join The Ceilidh Kidd on Sunday mornings for some braw music and fun to get your sausages sizzling. We'll have great tunes, sing-songs, a chance to learn some Gaelic and the odd wee poem, with plenty ceilidh music to stop you napping and get your toes tapping. Celtic Country is one of the original programmes, dating from from Celtic Music Radio’s first special event broadcasts from Celtic Connections back in 2006. The show reached it's 500th programme in November 2017. In that time, Stewart had played 2342 different Country artists from around the world, including 181 from Scotland.

On the show, Bob Leslie plays folk and acoustic-based songs, both ancient and modern, from both sides of the Big Water.

Because of the current Covid-19 restrictions the format for the 2021 Danny Kyle Open Stage will be completely different. With Liz Clark at the helm, Celtic Music Radio will broadcast the show between 5pm and 7pm over the course of the festival, playing three recordings from each act. As in previous years, judges will choose 6 acts to go through to the final.
