On tonight’s Sunday (24 November), Mary K. Burke Show will be ’50 Shades of Blue’ who are a Glasgow based musical duo consisting of Lorna-Jane Gracie from East Kilbride and Govan boy Mark Donaldson.
A support worker and engineer to trade, they joined musical forces in February of this year.
Lorna-Jane writes their material, sings and play guitar while Mark sings backing vocals and plays cajon, bodhran, washboard, spoons, bongo and anything else he can get a rhythm from.
They describe their musical style as a mixture of folk-Americana and blues and have being working hard playing at festivals, folk clubs, art centres and bars this year.
They won the song-writing competitions at Glenfarg Folk Feast, Girvan Folk Festival and Selkirk Music festival. They also won the busking competition at Balerno Folk festival and the open stage at Denholm, where they also opened
the evening concert for Chris While and Julie Matthews.
