On the Mary K. Burke Show on Sunday night, 2 March at the new time of 8.00pm, Mary’s special guest will be the niece of legendary rock and roller Jerry Lee Lewis – Mary Jean Lewis is a cool country singer who excels at the honky tonk piano her Uncle Jerry made famous throughout the world.
She’s a dynamic personality and performer exuding all the charm you would expect from a Louisiana woman, just like her piano playing rock ‘n’ roll mum Linda Gail Lewis.
It took a romantic encounter with a man from Lanarkshire to make this singer up sticks and move to Scotland.
Six years ago Mary Jean Lewis fell in love, married and set up home in Wishaw.
She’s even brought her own taste of the deep south to the Lanarkshire town with the opening of her American diner there. A regular on the music circuit, Mary Jean says that family, good food and music were very much part of growing up in Louisiana.
Mary K. Burke Show, Sunday 2 March 8.00-10.00pm.
