Europe’s premiere winter music festival, Celtic Connections celebrates its 18th birthday in 2011, with over 1,500 artists performing in approximately 300 events taking place over 18 days across 14 venues in Glasgow. Celtic Connections is programmed and promoted by Glasgow Life.
Once again, Celtic Music Radio will be there to report on the festival, with the latest news, interviews and live performances from the artists taking part and, of course, bringing you The Danny Kyle Open Stage LIVE.
Danny Kyle was the most passionate supporter of traditional music and constant campaigner for its revival in Scotland. The Open Stage has been an integral part of the festival Each night of the festival, new musical talent is given the chance to shine under the Celtic Connections spotlight and the six best acts win through to the coveted final night concert. Compered by Danny’s close friend, Liz Clark, it has been the launch pad for many now familiar names such as Adam Sutherland, Karine Polwart and GiveWay.
